Treehouse is great for newbies - really great. It has great introductory courses in a variety of topics and they always make sure to add new relevant content constantly. If you're a student, it's also cheaper (at $9 per month) than most other pay-to-learn platforms, but with anything, once you get the basics down, you're hungry for something more advanced. So, for anything seriously advanced or developing full fledged web applications or otherwise, it would probably be better to go somewhere else. Otherwise, it's a great site for beginners to get their feet a little wet.
Great for continuing education but kind of lacks the network and placement possibilities of other structured courses.
While not as intense as a 6 week course, Treehouse does a great job at continuing to provide some of the most accessible education for learning how to code. I enjoy the code samples and the fact that they work to stay relevant with the new development tools and platforms constantly being released.
This is definitely the most cost effective option though unfortunately, it doesn't create as tight knit of a network that becomes helpful when completing your education.
